Yay! We had a successful first week of school. We are looking forward to a great school year. Please remember students should arrive at school between 8:45 and 9:15. We serve breakfast from 8:45-9:10.
Carpool Please make sure that if you are a carpooler that you follow the directions of our staff members. We want to ensure the safety of our students, parents and staff members. Bus Riders Just a reminder our bus routes have changed this school year. Please make sure you know what bus route your child(ren) have been assigned. All K-1 students must have an adult at their bus stop in the morning an afternoons. If you are not at the bus stop, your child will be brought back to the school. With this being the first week for kindergarten, please make sure you are at the stop to ease their anxiety too. As always if you have questions, please do not hesitate to call the office or send an email. ~Lutashia Dove Check out how our second grade team will use technology this school year!

First day of school for Tracks 1-3 is Monday the 7th.
Dear Wilburn Families,
On behalf of all the staff members, I would like to welcome everyone to Wilburn Elementary School! It is a privilege to serve as principal of Wilburn. At Wilburn Elementary, we are committed to providing our learners with a quality education. We are deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased academic expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal that all learners will be successful and reach their full potential. I would like to encourage each parent/guardian to stay active in your child's education. I certainly realize that many of you lead busy lives, and it is often difficult to volunteer at school. However, taking just a few minutes in the evening to read to your child, talk with your child about school, or simply see that your child is organized for the next school day can have great benefits. Enjoy the 2014-2015 school year and all the excitement it will bring! Please feel free to contact any of us at Wilburn if you would like more information about our school. You can also check our website for any up to date information about our school. Sincerely, Lutashia Dove Principal |
